Privacy Policy

This notice explains how Bluehive Stays collects and uses personal information when you visit our website, contact us, or book a stay.

Last updated: 18 August 2026

Who we are

Bluehive Stays is a small, owner-operated holiday let business in Jedburgh, Scottish Borders. We are the data controller for personal information collected through this website.

You can contact us at hello@bluehivestays.com.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as a data controller. You can look us up on the ICO register of fee payers.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to run the website and look after your stay:

  • Contact form: your name, email address, and message.
  • Bookings: names, contact details, stay dates, guest numbers, and payment details, collected by our booking partners when you complete a reservation.
  • Website use: technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, plus cookies where you have consented. See our cookie policy for the full list.

How we use it

We use your information to reply to enquiries, manage bookings, improve the website, and meet our legal obligations.

Under UK GDPR, that is typically:

  • Taking steps at your request before a contract, or performing a contract, for enquiries and bookings.
  • Legitimate interests, for running and securing this website.
  • Consent, for non-essential cookies.
  • Legal obligation, where tax, accounting, or similar rules require us to keep records.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We use trusted providers to operate the site and take bookings:

  • Cookiebot, for cookie consent and the cookie declaration.
  • Brevo, to send us contact form messages by email.
  • Guesty, for availability search and bookings at 5 Old Bridge End.
  • Lowrie Holiday Lets, for bookings at 20 Queen Street.
  • Vercel, which hosts this website.

Those providers only process information on our behalf, or as independent controllers where you book directly with them. Payment details are handled by the booking partner, not stored on this website.

How long we keep it

Contact form messages are kept for up to 12 months after our last correspondence, unless we still need them for an active booking or a legal reason.

Booking records are kept by us and our booking partners for as long as needed to manage your stay and meet accounting and tax requirements.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to restrict or object to how we use it. You can also ask for a copy of information you provided to us.

Where we rely on consent (for example, non-essential cookies), you can withdraw it at any time through the cookie banner.

To use these rights, email hello@bluehivestays.com.

Complaints

Please contact us first if you are unhappy with how we have used your information. You also have the right to complain to the ICO, the UK supervisory authority for data protection:
